College Graduation & Sudden Loss
In 2004, I had just graduated college—ready to begin my life. At the same time, my cousin Adam was fighting for his. Diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Adam endured unthinkable pain with profound courage, emotional resilience, and a deep concern for others.
His strength in the face of suffering lit a fire in me.
Days before my 24th birthday, Adam lost his battle with cancer. I lost someone who was more like a brother, someone I loved deeply beyond words. I fell into grief and disconnection. Layered beneath that pain was ancestral trauma I hadn’t yet understood—being a third-generation Holocaust survivor. Fear and anxiety often overshadowed my sense of self.
Searching for healing, I returned to what gave me strength: Judaism and athletics. I moved to Israel to study at Pardes and train for an international triathlon. It was there I discovered Jewish mindfulness through Rabbi Dr. James Jacobson-Maisels. Meditation, Mussar, and ancient Jewish texts awakened a peace I had never known.
That journey changed me.
I felt alive again, driven by purpose, wisdom, and an open heart.
The healing from my loss and pain had truly begun.
I gained the tools to live with focus, emotional agility, spiritual purpose, and physical strength. The intersection of these disciplines became my foundation—and my calling.
For over 20 years, I’ve shared this blend of mindfulness, Jewish wisdom, and peak performance with thousands of students, athletes, and professionals. Whether I’m speaking, teaching, or coaching, my mission is simple: help people come back to their best selves.
